Art/Work / 2010
This public art installation, titled Art/Work, is the result of winning a public art competition to create artworks for a newly-opened streetcar right-of-way that had been very controversial (fought by car drivers anxious about giving up street space to transit users). I was one of a number of artists chosen to have a work installed at one of the stops along St. Clair Ave. W. in Toronto.
My work highlights the historic labour of the many individuals who constructed and maintained the streetcar tracks along St. Clair during the early 20th century.
